Carlos La Riva, Director of Junior Programs

Carlos is originally from Venezuela and has also lived in Germany and Colombia. He started playing at age of 8 in Colombia, then he moved to the USA with his family. As a junior, he played many tournaments across Florida.

Carlos worked in multiple Country Clubs in Boca Raton, FL. He also coached at the Pro World Tennis Academy with world top ranked players such as Naomi Osaka.

Carlos is great with both kids and adults and specializes in advance tournament players. He is an experienced and dedicated teacher. Carlos has been working at Buckskill Tennis Club since 2012. Carlos is the Junior Tennis Director and he oversees our junior programs. He also enjoys teaching adults and he teaches pickleball and Padel private lessons and clinics. When he is not on the court, he enjoys playing golf and cooking fancy meals.

Anett Ferenczi-Bako, Head Pro

Anett was born in Budapest, Hungary where she was a top ranked junior tennis player. She competed in several ITF tournaments and at age 16 she won both the single and doubles titles at the British Columbia National Tournament in Canada. Anett went on to play Division I college tennis on a full scholarship at University of Nevada, Las Vegas. While at the UNLV, she helped lead the Rebels to the 2013 Mountain West Conference Championship. She was also a four-time Mountain West Scholar-Athlete and Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA) Scholar-Athlete.

As a tennis pro, Anett coached local junior players at Himmelheber Tennis in Las Vegas, NV. She also has experience in conducting adult clinics and private lessons from her time at the Cosmopolitan Hotel, Westgate Resort and Sportime, NY where she frequently worked with all ages and levels.

From 2016-2018 Anett was a Division I Head Women’s Tennis Coach at Wagner College, NY while she pursued her MBA in Finance. Anett has been with the company since 2018, when she is not on the court, she works at the Hamptons Tennis Company’s office as a Business Development Coordinator.

Luis La Riva, Senior Staff Pro

Luis La Riva was born in Caracas, Venezuela. He moved to the U.S. when he was 6 years old and started playing tennis at the age of 7. In 2013 and 2015 he was a Florida State High School champion, in both Singles and doubles. He also trained and coached at ProWorld Tennis Academy in Delray Beach Florida, where players such as Kevin Andersen, Sofia Kenin and 4-time Grand Slam Champion Osaka Naomi have played and trained.

Luis has worked and trained ball boys and girls at the Miami Open for over six years.

Luis graduated from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton Florida, where he was majoring in Business Administration with a Finance concentration.

He currently works as a Financial Representative at Northwestern Mutual in Manhattan

Luis is a PTR certified instructor. He has been coaching at Buckskill Tennis Club since 2013. He makes Tennis fun and competitive for players of all ages and levels here at Buckskill!

Miquel Perez, Staff Pro

Miquel was born in Girona, Spain. He started playing tennis when he was 4 years old and quickly showed promise. By the age of 12, Miquel was competing in national tournaments in Spain and achieved a ranking of top 3 in the country. Throughout his teenage years, he also participated in ITF junior tournaments across Europe, reaching a ranking of top 400 in the world by the age of 18.

In 2020, Miquel committed to Washburn University. During his time there, the team achieved a best ranking of 7 in the nation, with Miquel often playing as #2 in the lineup. Individually, he earned a ranking of 37 in the nation during his freshman year.

By his junior year, Miquel's exceptional performance earned him the All-American award as he finished ranked 5 in the nation in doubles. For his senior year, he transferred to Lindsey Wilson College where he continued to excel, achieving doubles ranking of 9 in the nation and a team ranking of 15.

Miquel graduated this year in December with a major in Business Administration with emphasis in Marketing and Management.

He brings valuable experience from working at Club Tennis d'Aro in Spain, where he had the opportunity to collaborate with former top 200 players in the world and the ex-captain of the Davis Cup team in Spain. This is Miquel's second year at Bucksill. His enthusiastic and upbeat personality made him very popular last year!

Anastasiia Ivanchenko, Staff Pro

Anastasiia was born in Chernivtsi, Ukraine. She began her tennis journey at the age of 6. At the age of 14, Anastasiia moved to Poland to train alongside some of the best coaches and players in the country. Anastasiia was ranked top 6 in the country and as a team they won the U16 & U18 Nationals Championships.

In 2022, Anastasiia committed to Lindsey Wilson College. During her time there, she helped the team to achieve a national ranking of 3. She earned a ranking of 23 in singles and 12 in doubles.

Anastasiia and her team qualified for prestigious tournaments like Indoor Nationals and Spring Nationals, competing against the top collegiate tennis teams in the nation.

Anastasiia graduated this May with a major in Business Administration, specializing in Marketing and Management, boasting an impressive GPA of 3.85. Her dedication to both academics and tennis is evident in her accomplishments on and off the court.

Anastasiia has gained valuable experience working in various tennis clubs around Long Island, NY, including Montauk Tennis Club and Tennis at the Barn. This is Anastasiia's second year at Bucksill and we are very glad to have her back!

Isabella Colmenares, Staff Pro

Isabella is originally from Venezuela and comes from a tennis family—her father and uncle were both players—which inspired her passion for the sport from the age of five.

As a junior, she represented Venezuela in the South American Championships, World Cup, and Fed Cup, serving as team captain. She was also ranked the No. 1 junior player in South America.

Isabella went on to play Division I tennis at Florida Gulf Coast University (FGCU), where she helped the team achieve a top-56 national ranking and win the regular season title.

Alongside her competitive career, she gained coaching experience working with both kids and adults during college and school breaks—an experience she truly enjoyed.

Isabella is excited to join Buckskill Tennis coaching staff!

Pietro Perego, Staff Pro

Pietro is originally from Milan, Italy. He has always had a deep passion for tennis, a sport that has played a significant role throughout his life. At the age of 10, Pietro began competing in his first tournaments, eventually traveling across Italy and abroad for Tennis Europe and ITF Juniors events during middle and high school.

At 17, Pietro participated in an exchange program that took him to Topeka, Kansas, where he played for his high school’s varsity team and went on to win the 2019 5A State Championship. The following year, with the goal of further developing his tennis and earning a U.S. high school diploma, he moved to Naples, Florida, to train and study at Academia Sanchez-Casal. He was recruited to play Division I men’s tennis at the University of the Incarnate Word (UIW) in San Antonio, Texas.

With his team he won two Southland Conference Regular Season Championships in 2022 and 2024. Pietro graduated with a Bachelor of Business Administration in Sport Management and a minor in Kinesiology.

Pietro is currently pursuing his Master’s in Sport Management at the University of Texas at Austin. He has worked in game operations for Texas Football, supports match statistics and communications for UT’s tennis teams, and assisted with the WTA 250 tournament in Austin.

Pietro enjoys cooking, DJing, running, and spending time outdoors. His goal is to build a career in sports management with a major athletic organization.

Chris Heck, Staff Pro

Chris is originally from Toronto, Canada before moving to Florida at the age of 14. He was a member of the Canadian Junior National Team and was a two-time doubles champion and two-time singles finalist in the Junior National Championships.

Chris competed all over Europe in Tennis Europe events while living in Canada and posted wins over numerous current top 200 ATP players. Chris was taught the fundamentals of tennis under former Australian coaching legend Bob Brett while working with the National team.

Upon moving to Florida, Chris started training at Proworld Academy in Delray Beach, and started traveling to play ITF juniors tournaments at age 15. He was a four-time ITF juniors’ finalist and had a junior ranking of 300 at Age 17.

Chris also trained under Olympic Gold Medalist and US Open Doubles champion Sebastien Lareau.

Chris played collegiately at former NCAA ranked #16 University of Utah and Penn State University while studying finance. He posted wins over numerous top schools such as UCLA, San Diego etc.

Chris has also been a sparring partner for many professionals during tournaments and off-seasons with players such as Andy Murray, Nick Kyrgios, Stefanos Tsitipas, Coco Gauff, and Elena Rybakina. Chris was also a tennis stunt-double in the movie “Challengers” where he worked alongside Zendaya, Mike Faist, and Josh O’Connor under the tutelage of Brad Gilbert.

Harriet de Groot, Staff Pro

Harriet grew up playing tennis at Buckskill Tennis Club. From an early age, she exhibited a very high degree of coordination and natural ability in tennis. Harriet played High School Tennis at Bridgehampton School’s combination team with East Hampton and Sag Harbor. She excelled at doubles, which she continues to play to this day.

Harriet played Club Tennis at the University of Pennsylvania, where she graduated Summa Cum Laude, Class of 2020. Harriet graduated from Stony Brook University with a Master’s in Clinical Psychology. She is now studying for her PHD in clinical child psychology at the University of Alabama.

Harriet has been teaching tennis at Buckskill for 11 years and specializes in teaching our juniors. Children love Harriet and Harriet loves them back!

Jonathan de Groot, Staff Pro

Jonny has been playing tennis at Buckskill since he was 3 years old. He played High School tennis for the East Hampton/Bridgehampton/Sag Harbor combo team as the number one singles and doubles player. He was both team captain and MVP. After High School Jonny took a gap year and trained and played tournaments in Florida.

Jonny graduated from Cornell Unversity this December with a BSc in Archaeology, Agriculture and Ethnobotany. He played club tennis team at Cornell.

Jonny has been teaching tennis at Buckskill for 11 years. He teaches both juniors and adults and with his big serve and serve and volley game he is a popular partner in pro-am doubles!

Will O'Brian, Staff Pro

Will grew up in Alabany, New York where he started playing tennis at the age of 6. In juniors, Will was top 250 in the country and was a 3-star recruit. In High School Will played tennis at The Albany Academies and as a sophomore he made it to the quarterfinals of the state doubles tournament with his brother, Aidan.

Will is currently attending Fairfield University, majoring in Business Administration with concentration in Marketing. Will is an 11 UTR player and plays both in the singles and doubles line-up at Fairfield. He was a MAAC All First Team Doubles in his freshman year.

This will be Will's third summer at Buckskill. He enjoys teaching kids and adults and when not on the court you will find him at the beach playing competitive spikeball or surfing!

Dylan Crowley, Junior Pro

Dylan was born in Pelham New York and attended Pelham Memorial High School. He just graduated from Manhattanville College where he majored in Sports Business with a minor in Professional Tennis Management.

Dylan played on the Manhattanville tennis team in both Singles and Doubles. They won the Skyline Conference Championship in 2022 and received an automatic bid to the 2022 Division III Tennis Tournament.

Dylan has been playing at Buckskill since he was 13 years old, taking lessons and playing with family members. Dylan has experience at the Armonk Tennis Club in Westchester County working with the Junior Clinics and the after-school program. He is currently working toward his USTA L1 Certification. Dylan is returning for his second summer at Buckskill Tennis Club.
